Beyond The Stitches - September 2023 Newsletter

Our Newsletter will provide information on what has transpired during this past month as well as what is coming up.
We feel so Blessed we did not have damage from the hurricane. We apologize we were required to close due to a mandatory evacuation and road closure as well as the safety of YOU and our Team Members. Thank you for the numerous calls, text messages, pictures of our shop and emails checking on the shop and our Team. It truly is "beyond the stitches" of any project; it is the love and compassion of others; thank you.
It is amazing how quickly another year is passing by. Schools are back in session and many of you have had an opportunity to experience more graduations, weddings, births, life milestones and unfortunately some funerals/celebrations of life.
Many of you may not realize that Mom (aka: Jan Squires) began her sewing career/legacy from a simple inviation to a bag class from her friend, Judy Sospenzi. Mom met Judy due to Mom's participation in a wood turning group where Judy's husband, Frank, was a member. Although Mom enjoyed turning and creating wood projects on her lathe, she is always up to learning new crafts. Judy encouraged Mom to meet her at a bag making class and, well, the rest is history; Mom has been sewing and creating since then. Sadly, Judy earned her heavenly wings on Sunday, August 19th and her funeral was held on August 25th. Judy, and her great sense of humor, will be missed by many. RIP Judy
In an effort to "give back" to our community, we donated another sewing machine (our second one) to the Citrus County Sheriff's Department so the volunteers can continue to sew patches on uniforms and hem uniforms for our law enforcement officers.
We have enjoyed more classes in our Learning Center. Be sure to enroll and join the fun. You can check out the most current schedule on our website at www.beyondthestitches.com.
