Two Good Soles Shoe & Socks event will continue NOW until September 8th if you would like to help someone in need.  All NEW shoes and socks stay here in Citrus County to help those in need.  The past two years, because of YOU, we have been one of the largest collection locations.  If you would like to help simply bring in NEW shoes and socks and put them in the collection box to help those in need in Citrus County.  THANK YOU to those that have participated!

As we enter into the ninth month of the year, it is time to focus on holiday gift ideas if you are one that likes to create holiday gifts for others.  With the cost of shipping continuing to increase (like many other things) we often look for ideas that can be created and shipped at a minimal cost.   Thank you to Caroline who brought to our attention the Flip & Heat Microwave Baskets; class is scheduled for September 26th with instructor, Susan.  This great project may remind you of the bowl cozy concept however they lay flat which you may find easy to store and a great project to ship to others.  Be sure to check our our other classes on our website, www.beyondthestitches.com. 

Another great class scheduled for September 18th with instructor Jan (aka: Mom) is the Holiday Table Setting.  This class will provide techniques that can be used in additional projects as well as provide instructions on making a quick, easy table settings that can be used for the holidays or anytime of the year.  One customer is already planning on making this project for birthdays where the birthday person can have their own special table setting; what a great idea they had.  We really enjoy hearing all of your ideas.

We enjoyed great tips during classes during this past month as well as the sharing of ideas, laughter and meeting new friends.  Be sure to check out our upcoming classes and enroll online, www.beyondthestitches.com, call our shop (352) 794-3289 or stop by the shop so one of our friendly Team Members can help you enroll.  If the class is sold-out be sure to keep checking as a customer had to cancel a few days prior to class due to an appointment which left a last minute opening in a sold-out class.  We hope you enjoy some pictures of our classes this past month.

Sew & Tell is held the First Saturday of most months at 10:00 a.m. where friends gather to share their completed projects, share a tip and meet new friends.  Come join the fun.  Here are a few of the projects shared this past month.

As customers came to the shop to pick up their America's 250th Birthday Challenge projects we thought you may enjoy seeing the faces behind the projects that received the highest community votes.  

We had to pull out the tissues for all of us when America's 250th Birthday Challenge project creator, Marti R., gifted her project to Kelly as they both reminisced about their military experiences.  This is another reason we say our shop is truly "beyond the stitches".

Thank you for bringing in your projects and sharing with us so we can celebrate YOU and your successful creative project.  We see the fabrics leave our shop in yardage and we get to see your creations when you stop by and show us.

Some of you may remember Jo and Jim Kerker as they attended classes and enjoyed time at Beyond The Stitches prior to moving to St Louis.  When we attended Baby Lock Tech (Baby Lock's Annual Conference) we were able to connect with them and Jo shared some of her projects that she just finished.  Way to go Jo!

Be sure to give our Team a call (352) 794-3289 to schedule service for your sewing/embroidery/quilting machine.   It is suggested that you have your machine cleaned at least once a year.  We can clean, repair and/or troubleshoot problems you are experiencing.   Here are just a few pictures from this past month.
